Little Blue Heron

Little Blue Herons are a semi-common visitor to the rookery. When seen, they are usually perched on the island, or in bushes adjacent to the water.

Feathers:
- Body: Slate blue.
- Neck: Maroon or purple.
Legs: Greenish tint.
Bill: Pale blue, black tip.

Little Blue Herons are dark birds. Their most distinguishing feature is their deep blue/purple feathers.

Little Blue Herons are typically around 2-2.5 feet tall, and typically have wingspans just short of 3.5 feet.

They eat small fish, shrimp, crabs, and small amphibians and reptiles.
